About the hotel with an amazing view

Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa sits in a fold in the Berwyn Mountains on the Mid Wales Shropshire border (1½ hours from Birmingham).

The magnificent Victorian reservoir with its fairy tale tower, dominates the scene from the hotel.

Located 900 feet above sea level, the view is really exceptional.

No matter what you choose to do at Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa – this is the perfect antidote to modern day living—a little piece of heaven.

Bedrooms

We have 52 bedrooms all individually furnished and decorated, many with special features including, four-poster beds and balconies. 21 rooms have balconies.

Our lake view rooms look over the beauty of the water.

Peace reigns.

And our drawing room with its log fire,

drawing_room_firegrand piano, comfortable chairs and settees is a wonderful place to be—whether admiring the view over Lake Vyrnwy, or simply ignoring a chilly winter’s evening in comfort.

Restaurant, bars

Relax with a pre-dinner drink in our traditional bar: the huge trout in their glass cases may look on disapprovingly, but are witness to our hotel’s origins as a sporting lodge. On a warm summer night, what better than a table on the balcony, admiring the view with a chilled bottle of wine?

Then on to the restaurant where our chef’s cuisine is based on fresh, local ingredients. Beautifully presented food, with a wine list that provides for all tastes.

Or meet the locals in the adjoining country pub, the Tower Tavern. A pint of traditional beer and pub grub. And on a nice day sit on the terrace overlooking the lake.

Spa

Sheer luxury, with pampering treatments, fitness centre and the ultimate Vyrwny bonus of a lake view. Simply divine. (We recommend that you book  your spa treatments in advance of your arrival date to avoid disappointment on the day).

Round and about

If relaxing with a good book and letting go of a crazy world for a few days isn’t enough, we’ll spoil you for choice with a wide range of leisure activities.

Sightseeing wonderful mountainous Snowdonia of course, places to visit, plus walks around the lake and hills hereabouts, as energetic or slow as you like.

Birdwatching, fly-fishing, tennis, clay shooting and  lots more besides.
