Team building, training events

archery_target Lake Vyrnwy provides an excellent rural retreat for a wide range of events to meet your requirements.

These take place within the estate that surrounds the hotel. Just some of the things we’ve organised with our events specilists are outlined here to give you an idea of the range available.
Naturally what we organise for you will be designed specifically to meet your goals and objectives.

So, if it's a high rope walk at treetop level, rafting or climbing and abseiling, we've an abundance of ideas.

Clay pigeons must die!

Shooting clay pigeons is one of our most popular activities. The clay range is fully automated. Wonderful sport.clay_shooting

* The Vyrnwy Challenge

This was originally conceived as a dynamic testing medium with emphasis on motivation, communication, commitment and above all else teamwork.

Based on a team of eight, with a time objective of two and half hours, the team has to follow a set course. This includes various tasks that need to be completed before moving on. Bonus and penalty points are awarded or deducted throughout the course according to the team's performance.

Here we go:

1. Canoe from the boathouse to the dam

Steps 2 to 6? We won't spoil the secret.

7. A short run back up to your canoe and then a mad paddle back to the boat house

The last team member stops the clock.

Job done, team built!

And there's more...

These are organised by Off Limits:

* The teamwork challenge

A range of cryptic and slightly physical challenges designed to get teams working together to complete the tasks set for them. As the event unfolds different team leaders come forward, and as a group they appreciate the benefits of working as a team. In a fun, supportive yet challenging environment, of course. And we utterly refute any suggestion that we employ organisers with even the slightest sadistic tendencies, and the activities the product of a warped mind.
Challenges are designed to tackle some of the issues in the workplace such as time management, delegation, working as a unit. And importantly, making the most of your colleagues’ individual strengths in order to gain the best from all members of a team.
We’ve already thrown down the gauntlet (figuratively) on these:
Archery scrabble
Blindfold tent pitching
Human sheep herding—blindfolded
Land raft
Land raft challenge
Message in a bottle
Mission CCS
Operation countdown
Pyramids
Reach for the sky
Storm the castle
The web
As you’ll appreciate, some of these are an absolute hoot.

* The Picasso picture show

The Picasso Picture Show has been designed to highlight the importance of teamwork and communication in a fun environment.
During the briefing your guests will be shown a 6ft by 4ft abstract canvas painting.
All the teams have to do is recreate the masterpiece. However, each group has sections of the bigger picture to paint but with several drawbacks:
They can only view the original at allotted times throughout the event
One person must inform the rest of the team what to paint and where.
The masterpiece that they are recreating will be on a different scale
They must work to a deadline
If the communication and teamwork is effective then the final masterpiece be exact replica of the original… right?

* Cryptic treasure hunt

A treasure hunt centred around the local area designed to get the team working together to solve the many tasks set for them. The key to the success is that they are presented in a relaxed environment but with a competitive slant. Tasks will involve:
Solving a range of cryptic clues to find locations
Once at the location additional questions will have to be answered
Complete a photo assignment
Acquire a range of items from a shopping list
Sounds easy, doesn’t it?
