Mountain Bike Trails
We are lucky enough here at Lake Vyrnwy Hotel to be situated in the heart of the Berwyn Mountains. Although there are no formal mountain bike trails at Lake Vyrnwy, there are miles upon miles of gravel roads and bridleways in the forests and up on the moorlands that surround Lake Vyrnwy.
One such route, which you can start here at the hotel, takes in some of the best bridleways and lanes in the area before finishing with a long flowing decent back down to the hotel.
Lake Vyrnwy Hotel is an ideal base to explore the abundance of trails in Mid / North Wales, which is fast becomeing a mecca for mountian biking in the UK, even the World! Here is a list of the trail centres all within 1.5 hours of the hotel.
Revolution Bike Park is an uplift-assisted bike park nestled in over 120 acres of private woodland. Situated in beautiful Llangynog, in the Tanat Valley at the foot of the Berwyn Mountain range.
Only a 25 minute journey from Lake Vyrnwy.
At 15km Climachx is not the longest trail in the area, but don’t let that put you off. A red graded route, with flowing natural feeling singletrack with some technical rocky sections.

The original Welsh trail centre. Coed-Y-Brenin has been a mecca for mountain biking in Wales since the 1990’s, with an ever expanding network of trails that cater for all ages and abilities.

A hidden gem of North Wales mountain biking, comprising of 2 loops (Loop 1 - 19km and Loop 2 – 11km) which can be ridden together as a larger 30km loop. Penmachno is the perfect combination of technical singletrack and stunning views of Snowdonia.

The 25km Gwydir Mawr Trail is a proper mountain bike trail. Big climbs, big descents, brilliant singletrack. Take time to soak in the views of the mountains of Snowdonia on this classic North Wales trail.
