Joggers and runners come to Lake Vyrnwy to do just that. The road around Lake Vyrnwy’s shores just happens to be short of the length of a half marathon - start and end in the village and you will have done the full 13.1 miles to qualify (this is in fact the route that the hosted half marathon runners take every year!), and since you’ve never seen a lake on a slope it provides a pretty flat circuit that lets you pound out the miles while taking in the spectacular scenery at the same time.
The scores of footpaths and trails that lead from the lake into the hills and mountains around Lake Vyrnwy provide more challenging terrain for a little hill running if you’re that way inclined!
