Lake Vyrnwy Today
A Victorian country house and luxurious spa.
Lake Vyrnwy Hotel and Spa has been owned and run by the Bisiker family for over a quarter of a century. They see themselves as custodians of Lake Vyrnwy Hotel and its proud heritage. Incredibly they are only the third owners in Lake Vyrnwy’s 125 year history – isn’t it reassuring to have continuity in an ever-changing world?
Ensuring that things run smoothly is ultimately the responsibility of Director and General Manager Anthony Rosser - in many ways it's a unique role: Despite the fact that it is less than one hour from the motorway network, Lake Vyrnwy Hotel's popularity derives in no small part from its relative isolation and that means Lake Vyrnwy Hotel and Spa is one of the area’s most important economic ‘drivers’ - it is an integral and vital part of the local community employing local people who inevitably are related to the Hotels many local suppliers. The Hotel is proud to place an emphasis on buying as much as it can from local sources – why go further when Lake Vyrnwy Hotel's neighbours grow some of the finest produce in the country!
That community spirit is also reflected in the length of service of many members of staff: 10, 20, even 30 years.
The Hotel employs a small army of people committed to delivering “the Vyrnwy experience” and for every member of staff you see there are probably three or more that you won't - but no matter what their role, we know that you'd miss them if they weren't there!
